Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited is involved in manufacturing and marketing India Formulations, International Generics, and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients with vertical integration capabilities. Headquartered in Vadodara, Gujarat, we derive a third of our revenue of over $600 million from the India market.
We are the flagship company of the pioneering Alembic Group. Close to 40% of our revenues are generated from the US generics business, where we have over 250 filed ANDAs and over 150 approved ANDAs, while 18% of our business comes from third-party API sales. We spend over 12% of our revenue in R&D and have a strong team of 1,000 people. In chemistry research and the rest in formulation development. Our capabilities also extend to making oral solid & injectables in Oncology, general & complex injectables and ophthalmology.
Our healthcare products cater to 10 therapeutic areas in the domestic market and offer the edge of unmatched quality and on-time delivery to our clients. We have the capacity and influence to reach out to 1.75+ lakh doctors across our 17 therapy-focused marketing divisions and with 1.5% share in the domestic market. The manufacturing facility in Sikkim is dedicated for manufacturing our India Formulations.
We are globally recognised for our strengths in research and development, manufacturing, product commercialisation as well as compliance with international regulatory standards. Manufacturing facilities, which cater to the International Generics markets are located at Panelav, Karkhadi and Jarod in Gujarat. Our APIs are manufactured at the Panelav and Karkhadi facilities. We established our marketing and distribution office in the US in 2015 and have since then grown our business rapidly. In 2016, we formed a JV with ? Aleor Dermaceuticals Limited ? for developing Dermatology products for international markets. Our ever-enriching portfolio is owing to unparalleled R&D capabilities, concentrated across our facilities in Vadodara (Gujarat), Hyderabad (Telangana) and New Jersey (USA).

Alembic Group is among India?s oldest industrial houses with presence in glass, chemicals, real estate, engineering, education and healthcare sectors.
It was founded in 1907 as Alembic Chemical Works Company Ltd, by Prof. T.K. Gajjar ? the first renowned chemist in Western India, Prof. Kotibhaskar ? a Gold Medalist in Technological Chemistry, and Mr. B. D. Amin ? the man with incomparable business tact and capacity for management.
A journey that began with tinctures, alcohol, vitamins, penicillin production, has today diversified into an expansive conglomerate with interests spanning pharmaceuticals, healthcare, real estate, engineering, specialty chemicals and glassware.
