Advancing science and medicine
At UCB we are committed to improving patients' lives and advancing scientific research and medical knowledge. We support a variety of initiatives through our external funding programmes, including Investigator-Initiated Studies, Grants, Donations, and Sponsorships.
All completed requests that meet our review criteria and are submitted with sufficient notice will be reviewed and considered for support. However, UCB receives numerous proposals and is unable to support every request.
Funding
At UCB, we have made a commitment to help patients living with severe diseases to achieve the lives they aspire to.
In support of our commitment, UCB supports a variety of organizations through external funding initiatives such as sponsorships to support activities which further medical and scientific knowledge, donations to support activities which further medical and scientific knowledge and other types of funding.

Grants
UCB provides Grants for independent programmes that foster increased understanding of scientific, clinical, and healthcare issues that contribute to the enhancement of patient care. Supported programmes must be objective, balanced and scientifically rigorous.

Investigator-Initiated Studies
The Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS) program supports unsolicited, hypothesis-driven research aligned with UCB's areas of interest.  An IIS must be initiated, sponsored, and conducted by an investigator without influence from UCB.  Support for an approved IIS may include funding and/or UCB product.
